Shuwaikh Port is considered as the main commercial port in the country. The Port has 21 berths with Overall Length of 4055 meters.
The vessel traffic to and from the port is passing through the navigation channel and it is dredged inside the Kuwait Bay. The length of the channel is about 4.3 mile with depth of 8.50 meters at minimum water tide level. The Port can receive vessels of 7.50 meters draft at any tidal condition and vessels of max 9.60 meters on high water.
Time required for berthing around 1 to 1.5 hour Pilotage is compulsory and available round the clock for berthing and sailing. Berthing prospects available only after the berth meeting and subject to vessels draft and LOA.

The Port of Shuaiba (or Ash-Shu’ayba) lies on the northeastern shores of the Persian Gulf in southeastern Kuwait about 45 kilometers southeast of Kuwait City. The nation’s second port, it is also home to an oil refinery, a petrochemical plant, and a seafood-packing plant. The city is home to one of the biggest seawater desalinization plants in the world, and over two thousand people live in the Port of Shuaiba.
